| La Toussuire -
Les Bottières - The Three Crosses |
|
This route is an invitation to discover
mountain diversity, from a resort to a panorama, from chapels
to pastures, and let yourself be charmed. The grassy summit of
the route is suitable for a picnic or a nap ! The route starts
in La Toussuire, in front of the Tourist Office.

Half-way, after a steep climb, the trail
arrives at La Rochette. It is strongly advised to stay there for
a quiet, magical visit. The chapel deserves your attention. But
the best place for a picnic is the Three Crosses. Last stage of
a 14-cross calvary starting in La Rochette, it deserves a visit.
The return route climbs the hairpins to the top of a lift to pass
on to the mountain side overlooking La Toussuire.

Start
in Les Bottieres : in front of the Tourist Office, go towards
the tennis courts and follow the forest path to the hamlet of
Les Colonnes. Climb to your right a path that passes by a bread
oven.
Go past the chapel and the down to road D 78. Climb the road that
leads to the hamlet of l'Alpettaz, passing by Lac du Lou. After
the first house turn right on to a very steep trail near the road.
Follow the trail across pastures till you reach the village of
la Rochette. (here the path meets the one coming from La Toussuire
till you reach the Bottieres lift). At the top of the lift, go
