The right reflexes…

  • Always wear a helmet and check your speed in descents.

  • Do not rush into the route, spare your muscles… and you will go farther. Choose a route that suits your level. Even with a guidebook and a blazed trail, a map is safer !

  • Check the weather before leaving (08 36 68 02 73) and carry warm clothing. In the mountains, the weather can change very fast !

  • Do not forget a repair kit (inner tube, brake cable), take something to eat and drink. … and have a good ride

  • Stay on the trails, do not cut across the hairpins and do not block your rear wheel to preserve the natural surface of the ground. Respect cultures and gates, and close the gates behind you.

  • Discover the Vanoise National Park on its roads, paths are for pedestrians ! Even on a blazed mountain bike trail, you are not alone ! The walker has priority and politeness helps understanding !

  • To make rescue operations easier, leave details about your route to friends or hotel keepers. Cell phones cannot connect to the network everywhere !

Blazings

Most of the routes in this guide are maintained by VTT centers with FFC agreement and are officially blazed.

Each post indicates the level of difficulty (see colors below), but also the number of the route to help you identify your circuit, and the way it should be done.

Please note : the best mark is nothing if it is not seen, so keep an eye on the sides of the trail, especially while descending !

Green route : very easy
Blue route : Easy
Red route : difficult
Black route : very difficult
