Aussois
- The Dams
Balcony trail circling mountain dam reservoirs (1948 et 2078 m)
at the borders of the Vanoise National Park. The dams are an attractive
place in every way. Moreover, a chairlift takes away most of the
ascent that usually has to be made in these exceptional mountain
routes. Take note that marmots are liable to cross the trail at
any moment !

 At
the end of the Grand Jeu chairlift and after a short ascent, traverse
towards the Plan Sec and Fournache mountain huts. Push the door
open and you will be welcomed like a king.
The route then circles around the lakes, with one mandatory stop
: the Plan d'Aval belvedere, with its exceptional panorama over
the Arc valley. The long descent towards Aussois, on a wide trail,
is a treat !

Take A43 to its end, then N6 to Modane and
D215 to Aussois.
The Grand Jeu chairlift starts from the Maison d'Aussois. It is
open every day, except Saturday and Sunday. 4.50 € for one
ascent, and 8.50 € for the day.
