Presentation

A
lot more demanding, steep and airy, the Bastion is a sequel
to the Passerelle.
Impressive overhangs add to the beauty of the cliff, before
discovering the charm of the Montvernier plateau... and maybe
the terrace of its friendly inn.
The route
At the end of the descent from the Passerelle via, the Bastion
footpath is signposted. After an easy traverse and the first
cables, the route gets very steep and even overhanging on a
40-meter section.
Already tired your arms now attack an overhanging ridge of the
same length. Keep your arms extended and rest your weight on
your fee

t
!
You can stop on a small platform before starting on the third
vertical section, still overhanging !
Enjoy the well-deserved charm of the plateau before descending
the 17 hairpins of the Montvernier road.
Access
From RN 6, take D 77 and drive into Pontamafrey.
Then turn left towards Montvernier and right at the Sertours
parking site.
There is a "via ferrata" signpost at the foot of the cliff.
Other activities
