This magnificent and impressive needle can be found in Sardieres forest, in the border of the Vanoise National Park. Leave the car very close to the monolith at the end of the surfaced road taken from Aussois. All the routes are on good rock and the in-situ gear is recent. The old route on the monolith's north face is not recommended, due to its poor rock and almost non-existent protection. Abseiling down the top of the needle requires a 90m rope.
